"Situation:    Chestnut Close is located in the historic village of Herstmonceux famous for its observatory and castle which are located a short distance away. Local Primary school and school bus services to both secondary schools in Heathfield and Hailsham. To the west is the market town of Hailsham with its range of retail shops as well as supermarkets, high street banks and building societies and to the south is the coastal resort of Eastbourne with its wider range of retail shops, Arndale Centre, retail parks as well as resort activities including beaches, promenades and harbour as well as tourist attractions such as Beachy Head and the pier. To the north is the spa town of Royal Tunbridge Wells with its wider range of retail shops and shopping arcades as well as the Pantiles. The area is well served by local buses and trains with regular services to and from central London via the nearby stations of Berwick, Polegate and Eastbourne, Buxted and Stonegate.
