Middleton in Teesdale is a large village supporting a traditional range of amenities including shops, doctor?s surgery, church, garage and primary school. A wider range of shopping, educational and recreational facilities can be found within the historic market town of Barnard Castle which lies but 11 miles distance. For the commuter the A66, A67 and A1(M) provide links with the major commercial centres of the north east. Darlington Mainline Railway Station and Durham tees Valley International Airport offer further communications with the rest of the country. Many of the attractions of Teesdale are within a short drive, beyond which can be found the delights of the Lake District, North Yorkshire, Northumberland and the North East Coast.

Continue towards the far end continuing straight ahead along a narrow, un-adopted lane which leads up to number 12.
