Barnard Castle
Newgate is ideally placed on the eastern fringe of the town, it enjoys outstanding southerly views over the Demesnes, whilst to the front is a delightful panorama over Barnard Castle School and grounds enjoying a semi rural setting yet being only half a mile from the town centre. Barnard Castle is an historic market town supporting a range of shopping, educational and recreational facilities. Often referred to as the gateway to Teesdale, where there are many renowned beauty spots close at hand, beyond which can be found the attractions of North Yorkshire, The Lake District, Weardale, Northumberland and the North East Coast.
