"This fine detached character house stands in an excellent rural position on the southern outskirts of Swanage about 200 metres from the Durlston Country Park. It has imposing elevations of natural Purbeck stone under a stone tiled roof and is thought to date back to the mid 18th Century. In 1937, under the supervision of the well known architect Percy Morley Horder, the building was virtually reconstructed and extended, resulting in the present outstanding house with spacious and well planned accommodation.
