SITUATION AND AMENITIES Reeds sits in the hills above the village of Uplyme which has a variety of local amenities including a petrol station, post office, church, school, village hall with cricket pavilion and play area, and a pub with a delightful beer garden. About two miles away is the bustling and picturesque town of Lyme Regis. Lyme is part of the stunning Jurassic Coast which stretches from Dorset to East Devon and makes frequent appearances in the River Cottage programmes. The town has a thriving heart offering convenience and bespoke shopping of a surprising variety for a town of its size, as well as a number of renowned popular restaurants like Hix's Oyster Bar and historic hotels. The town has a good provision of day to day amenities including banks, a health centre, churches, well regarded primary and secondary schooling, a library, a cinema and a charming independent theatre. Lyme has a fantastic beach with golden sands, shallow waters and the famous Cobb with moorings for local vessels and charters for the keen fisherman or day tripper. It has accommodation comprising kitchen, dining room, sitting room, ground floor bedroom/study and shower room. Whilst on the first floor are two double bedrooms, a family bathroom and separate cloakroom. To the front of the property is an enclosed yard with ample parking and useful outbuildings. OUTSIDE Reeds is approached from the lane via a five bar gate which leads to the enclosed yard and parking area. The stone barn and outbuildings are accessed from here. Continue past the playing fields and tennis courts on the right hand side and opposite the pub turn right. Follow this lane and at the T junction turn right again onto Venlake. Follow this road straight on to where the road forks left and right. Take the left hand fork sign-posted Cannington lane and continue along this lane.
