"Charming detached bungalow in excellent order close to town centre and enjoying views over the town towards the River Dart. Living room, galley kitchen, two bedrooms, bathroom, landscaped garden, decked patio and off road parking.
SITUATION Dartmouth is the culmination of the River Dart which starts life as a trickling stream through the boggy mires of Dartmoor before growing and leaping down rocky waterfalls to the ancient market town of Totnes an historic town full of interest with narrow streets and Norman castle. From Totnes the river flows gently passed Dittisham until it reaches the sea at Dartmouth. Dartmouth is where the Pilgrim Fathers sailed from Warfleet Creek where the ships gathered to fight the Armada. The Dart Valley is incredibly beautiful with a wide variety of scenery from the rich ancient woodland to rolling fields with a steam railway line, which adds to the atmosphere. It almost goes without saying that Dartmouth is a popular boating centre with a world famous regatta. It is also an active fishing port where fresh catches are traded on the quayside in Kingswear. On the hill above Dartmouth and keeping guard is the Britannia Royal Naval College designed and built in 1902 by the distinguished architect Sir George Aston Webb. The busy port of Dartmouth has approximately 2,800 moorings and the river is navigable from Dartmouth right up to the weir at Totnes. Dartmouth is really the jewel in the South Hams.
