Historical Note The parish church in Milford was built between 1846 and 1848, the Reverend Robert Leigh being the first incumbent. He built the long since demolished Derwent House as his private ‘vicarage‘ where he was living by 1851. The new parish obtained a grant from Queen Anne‘s Bounty and the property in question became his home by 1855 for a short time before a move to a new parish.
