"Situated in Highover Park, this extraordinary Grade II listed residence was built in the 1930's by the renowned architects Amyas Connell and Basil Ward. Along with a few neighbouring properties, known as the Sun Houses, they were designed to maximise sunlight throughout the day. It was one of the first Modernist houses, inspired by Le Coubusier, to be built in England. The house is very close to its original condition and the current owner has taken great care to maintain the original design with additional detailing. The internal accommodation comprises of an original style front door leading to the entrance hall with an under stairs cupboard. The living room has the original Crittall windows giving views to the front and garden to one side. There is a wood burning stove and ash strip flooring. Steps lead to the dining area with the original built-in bench seat and dual aspect windows to the side and rear gardens. An intriguing pivotal door, an original and listed feature, leads to the kitchen. The kitchen has authentically restored cupboard space and a contemporary work surface with plumbing for a dishwasher. On the first floor are three bedrooms and a restored bathroom with fittings sympathetic to the period, including an over bath shower. There is an airing cupboard accessed from the landing. A further staircase leads to the roof terrace which is the size of the footprint of the main house. From this there are far reaching views across the Misbourne valley.

There are also a variety of fine dining restaurants and public houses along The Broadway and High Street.

Outside
Externally and adjacent to the back door, the previous coal shed has been converted into a utility room with plumbing for appliances. A further brick outbuilding provides further storage facilities and has an electricity supply. To the front of the property there is access to the original garage, which is attached to the house, and parking for two cars with space to extend if required. The terraced gardens have had the original knapped flint retaining walls restored. There are numerous trees and planted areas surrounding the house giving seclusion and privacy."
