Wigoedd dates from the mid 18th Century and became the Plas Gwyn Estate manager's home. In its Grade ll listing, CADW, the Welsh Historic Buildings Agency describes the central part of Wigoedd as being of Georgian origin with Victorian extensions on the sides. The house is built of stone with rendered elevations, a slate roof and high chimney stacks. Restoration work has been carried  out to retain most of the original character, including period doors, beamed ceiling, period fireplaces, windows and an original cast iron range in the dining room.

Rooms are  of good proportions and the layout makes Wigoedd very versatile for family living, entertaining  and possible further development.

On the ground floor are three main reception rooms, namely,  the dining room, the music/drawing room and the living room along with the study, split kitchen and cloakroom.

The dining room has exposed ceiling timbers, quarry tiled floor and is home to the cast iron range which provides a welcoming open fire for family and guests. A door between the dining room and kitchen allows for an alternative flow of activity between all the interconnecting rooms.

The study is a cosy room with the option to light the small multi fuel burner or an open fire in the slate and tiled fire place. Custom made oak book shelves line one wall and a recessed window looks out to the front garden.

An arched lobby with recessed window leads to the drawing room which has dual aspect windows, one, with twelve panes, to floor level  and fitted with wooden shutters. The fireplace has a Georgian hob grate with slate and wood surround, overmantel mirror and a tiled hearth. A plaster cornice completes this high ceilinged room.

The living room is floored with big irregular slate slabs. A rediscovered doorway, now fitted with french windows opens to a patio under a glassroofed portico. The fireplace has a slate hearth, a slate and wood panelled surround and a Georgian hob grate.

The split kitchen, fitted with custom built oak cupboards and maple work tops, twin bowl brass sinks and Belfast sink, provides two highly practical areas. These allow for the easy separation of cooking and eating from food preparation and other kitchen functions and provides a cooler storage area.

A turned staircase  from the dining room goes up to a long landing off which are four bedrooms. An arched doorway leads to a small landing, a further bedroom and the family bathroom.

The master bedroom is a well proportioned room, with a Georgian hob fireplace, large window to floor level and fitted wardrobes . A half- glazed door separates the en-suite shower room.

Wigoedd is situated in its own grounds.  A splayed entrance with iron six bar gates gives way to a gravelled parking area that sweeps round to the front of the house. The front garden is on two levels with a lawn, flower borders and trees and a dividing stone wall. Two gates at each level allow access to a partially walled garden consisting of a potting shed, a Jasmine summer house, a herb  garden, an orchard, a fruit cage, and a vegetable garden which is arranged in raised beds (or lazy beds, no digging!) which allow for easy management.

A gate from the orchard leads to a grassed play area, great for football for all ages or even a wedding marquee.  A path from here goes on to a raised area with lovely views of the not too distant mountains, the surrounding countryside and, in season, apple blossom. The path continues round the side of the house past a tree swing to the back garden and woodland. A gate opens to a further grassed area with a wildlife pond, a barbecue area and paths through the woodland. Another gate opens to a path leading down through the trees to a lawn edged with ferns, a rockery, shrubbery and flowers and the remains of Wigoedd Bach cottage that once was the home of estate workers.

Close by are the pigstyes said to have been built using some stone from Wigoedd Bach. These have been renovated to provide a work shop, housing for garden machinery and storage.

The path continues past trees and shrubbery through a gate and back to the gravelled driveway.

In season the garden is awash with snowdrops, primroses, daffodils, bluebells, poppies and foxgloves which require little or no management. In spite of being over two acres, the garden is surprisingly easy to manage due to its partially wild and natural landscape, a controlled wilderness.

Some areas could be returned to paddock for a pony or to make alternative use of the garden.
