Situation

The Coach House stands in a prominent position on the edge of the village of Timsbury. There are several local shops for day-to-day needs whilst the Georgian Spa City of Bath, about 8 miles North, provides a comprehensive range of shopping, educational and recreational facilities as well as many cultural attractions including the Theatre Royal and famous Roman Baths.

There is a regular commuter train service running from Bath/Bristol to London (Paddington) taking approximately 90 minutes, and the M4 motorway (J18) is about 18 miles North providing access to London and the national motorway network. The ever more popular Bristol International Airport is 14 miles away with great connections to Europe.

Description

From Hayeswood Road drive through the grand entrance of Kingwell Hall and follow the long drive as it meanders through mature woodland until reaching a five bar gate, fencing and laurel hedging marking the private entrance of The Coach House. The automated gate opens on to a wide, sweeping gravel drive which is illuminated at night and terminates in front of The Coach House and a large triple garage. A high wall with ornate double iron gates leads into the formal Italianates enclosed walled garden with lawns and gravel walk leading to a raised and balustrade terrace. The handsome façade is of the rubble stone over stories flanked by pronounced single storey pavilions on either side. Dressed stone window surrounds and a deep overhanging roof line unite the whole and provide classical symmetry. Dating from early nineteenth century the property has been the subject of alteration during the 1970's and refurbishment in recent years. Double doors lead into the large reception and dining hall with a limestone floor and turning staircase. All of the elegant and well proportioned ground floor rooms are accessible from the hall. they offer fireplaces and ceiling mouldings and the drawing room, sitting room, kitchen breakfast room, utility room and conservatory have doors to the gardens. The luxurious master bedroom occupies the western end of the house and incorporates fitted wardrobes in both the bedroom and dressing room. All of the accommodation is well appointed and offers gracious and spacious living.


Outside

There are formal garden areas to all sides of the house and these include terraces, walkways, ornamental pond and clipped hedges. A wide area of lawn sweeps round the south to the north of the house with a fine gazebo pavilion between the house and tennis court. This is all bordered by woodland and the pasture land beyond. The new all weather championship sized tennis court offers all year round sporting venue and beyond this stands the stable block. The triple garage is big enough to house three cars and provide workshop space.
