" Situated within a small cluster of houses to the north of Hungerford is this pretty period cottage with attractive gardens to both the front and rear. The property offers much in the way of character and charm with exposed bricks and beams, tung and grove panelling, Oak flooring and an open fireplace. The main sitting room is open to the dining room with the central chimney stack dividing the rooms making it cosy and welcoming. There is a door to the garden and stairs to the first floor. The galley style kitchen has a number of cupboards, views over the garden and a useful utility area. There is also a cloakroom.

On the first floor there are two nice size bedrooms with views over the garden and across the fields. There is a further bedroom currently used as a study with WC and a family bathroom with shower over. With stylish heritage colour scheme, beautiful gardens and set in this rural yet accessible location this is a superb country retreat.

Situation
The cottage forms part of the hamlet of Old Hayward Bottom positioned between Hungerford Newtown and Chilton Foliat. The area has an abundance of footpaths and bridleways which take in the surrounding surroundings. In addition to the rural benefits the nearby town of Hungerford offers a wealth of amenities including a doctors surgery, a library, restaurants, banks and leisure facilities. The town is bordered by Freemans Marsh and Portdown Common with the Kennet and Avon Canal flowing through. There is also a mainline rail link from the town to Reading and to Paddington in approximately 1 hour. Schooling for all ages is available in the area and these include Downe House, Marlborough College and Cheam.
