*** Vendors comments *** "e;The house was built in the late 1970s and was partially designed by us as we were friends of the architect. It was therefore our dream house. It was designed so that there are three reception rooms downstairs. By opening and folding back the doors, you could create one long through-lounge (great for parties). Although it’s now in need of some modernisation, we have been very happy living here and would rather not have moved out had it not been for Alzheimer’s requiring a need to move into residential care.

This house has been the family home and has seen our family of five grow, mature and flee the nest. It was registered as a four-bedroom house, but when we became empty-nesters we knocked the main bedroom and the smallest bedroom into one, to create one extra-large front bedroom, which is a lovely sun trap in the mornings, with windows the whole length of the room. However, it can very easily be put back to four bedrooms if the extra room is needed once again. The room has the potential to create an ensuite if desired as there is a built-in sink providing running water. Two of the bedrooms have floor-to-ceiling built-in wardrobes and extra cupboard space. One room we’ve used as a craftutility room so it’s free for you to design yourselves. Three cupboards on the landing give extra storage space and there is access to the loft, a boarded space with electricity, by a pull-down loft ladder.

The property has a lovely spacious garden, longer than the majority in the street, with a patio, a pergola, a summer house, a greenhouse and a garden shed. Some of these are in need of renovation but they give an idea of the potential should you wish to add your own flair.

This house is in a very sought-after, quiet cul-de-sac and has access to excellent amenities; a GP Surgery, two primary schools, and two secondary schools, all within a 10-15 minute walk.

Three train stations are nearby, Mitcham Eastfields, Norbury & Streatham Common, easily reachable by bus with frequent trains to Central London and East Croydon. The house is within easy walking distance of six buses, which can take you to Streatham, Old Coulsdon, Purley, South Croydon, Morden, Brixton, Balham, and Wallington, again with easy connections to Central London. It is also within walking distance of Mitcham Common, a large green space with great areas for dog walking or just for a stroll offering a countryside feel with the array of wildlife.

We will definitely miss the peace and quiet of the close, with no-through road traffic, and the friendliness of our lovely neighbours"e;.
