SITUATION Bossiney is a small hamlet on the outskirts of Tintagel situated on one of the most romantic stretches of truly awe inspiring coastline, much of which is now owned by the National Trust. Bossiney Beach is a small cove that has little access at high tide. As the high tide goes out a long stretch of golden sand is revealed. Bossiney was the parliamentary seat of Sir Frances Drake in 1584. Election would have been declared from Bossiney Mound. Legend has it that the round table of King Arthur and his Knights are buried under the mound. Bossiney Mound can be found near the Chapel at Gill Pool on the side road out of Bossiney signposted for Launceston wherein lies the legendary round table. The myth is that the round table will rise up from the mound on a mid summers night when King Arthur and his Knights are due to return.
