" Coopers Coopers is a substantial early Victorian house situated on the edge of the historic town of Chipping Ongar and believed to date from the middle of the 19th century. The Victorians were renowned for building substantial houses which to befitted their status and Coopers is a good example.

The current owners bought the house in the 1970s and undertook a programme of improvement and repair, to a high standard.

The house has a conventional layout including a principle hall, three good reception rooms and six good bedrooms. There are a number of working fireplaces and the windows are mainly sash, some ground floor windows retain their shutters.
The house remains well maintained, both inside and out but there is scope to modernise; for example there is a generous kitchen/breakfast room and an adjoining second kitchen which offers a magnificent opportunity to create a bespoke large kitchen/breakfast/family room.

Outside, the property has twin entrances, both with wrought iron gates leading to the semi-circular driveway and a pair of good quality brick garages which lie to either side of the house. There is also a Coach House which was converted in 1996 to a generously proportioned three bedroom detached house, which has been rented out over a period of years. The gardens are established and include lawns, shrub and herbaceous borders, a terrace and specimen trees including Sequoia. The grounds in total extend to approaching one acre.Directions

From junction 7 of the M11 (Harlow) and follow the signs for Ongar. On entering Ongar, you will reach a roundabout and a filling station, here turn right heading along the High Street. Pass Sainsburys and as you leave the High Street the road veers round to the left, past The Two Brewers public house and just before a mini roundabout and opposite a phone box, you will see the turn to Coopers Hill on the right, through wrought iron gates. "
