LOCATION    The port of Falmouth caters for most day to day needs and was, for 200 years, the base for the Packet Services. It became the second-busiest port in Britain after London, a position maintained until sail gave way to steam power. For the keen day-sailor or dedicated yachtsman, the South Cornish coast offers numerous yacht and sailing clubs, with some of the finest UK day sailing waters at hand. In addition, there are golf courses at Falmouth, Budock Vean, Killiow and Truro together with many miles of scenic coastline protected by the National Trust.
