HOW TO GET THERE Approach Stoke Gabriel from either Collaton St Mary or Longcombe on the A385 between Totnes and Paignton. From Longcombe, continue through Aish and turn right into Aish Road. Orchard Way is a cul de sac at the southern end of Aish Road. STOKE GABRIEL Stoke Gabriel is a popular and much sought after village which lies in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty at the head of a creek on the River Dart about three miles south-east of Totnes. The older part of the village is in a conservation area near the River and Mill Pool and much of the area around the village is a Coastal Preservation Area. The village has good facilities including a church, primary school, village hall, post office, general stores and two public houses. Totnes is known as an Elizabethan town but has much earlier origins with a castle, a wonderful position on the River Dart and a main line railway station. It has a well regarded community college, full range of shops, a weekly market and a wide choice of cultural facilities.
