" The Great Hall was built by the famous gothic architect Augustus Pugin in the 1860s and was totally renovated throughout while respecting the building-s architecture.
This apartment retains and emphasises the fabulous period features including the wonderful exposed heavy roof trusses decorated with carved gold flowers, grand ceiling heights and the most beautiful mullioned windows offering far-reaching views over the communal gardens and countryside beyond. The interior has a contemporary, minimalist style which offers a good juxtaposition of the period and the modern thus enhancing the character features.   
The proportions are superb with all the rooms spurring off the very wide entrance hall with wood flooring throughout the majority of the apartment.
The kitchendining room has an excellent range of gloss cabinetry and yet there is plenty of space for a dining table and indeed a sofa. The sitting room is quite spectacular with an incredibly high ceiling with the aforementioned trusses being a great focal point, two gabled windows to the rear and then a wonderful feature showing part of the quartrefoil of the original arched window at floor height. There are two excellent bedrooms, both with dressing rooms and en-suite bathrooms. The en-suite bathroom off the principal bedroom, in particular, is stunning with the bath being situated under the foliated circle of the original stone mullioned arch window - a master-stroke of design.

Mayfield is a conservation area and one of the most sought-after villages in the area due to its active local community, character properties, eclectic array of local shops, quaint public houses and cafes along with the renowned Middle House Hotel and Restaurant. The ever-popular Royal Spa town of Tunbridge Wells is 7 miles distant and has superb facilities from theatres, hotels and nationally known department stores, to historic sites and artisan shops. For commuters there are fast, direct train services to the London from Wadhurst Station (5.5 miles), whilst the A21 trunk road can be accessed at Lamberhurst or Pembury connecting with the M25.
