Agents' Note Solaria was designed and built as a low energy property. As well as the high levels of insulation, the large south facing super efficient windows capture lots of solar energy which reduces the length of the heating season by as much as two months. The photovoltaic roof panels were new in April 2011 and generate between 2,400 and 2,500 kWh of electricity per year, between 600 and 700 kWh more than the current owners consume. The heat recovery ventilation system recovers 70% - 80% of the heat contained in exhausted moist air from kitchens, bathrooms and cloakrooms and transfers it to incoming fresh air, thereby saving additional energy. The owners wrote an article detailing the property construction and energy saving properties for Vol 13, No 4 (Spring 2001) of the journal Building for a Future, which can be emailed to any interested potential purchaser.

Because of the limitations in the software used to generate Energy Performance Certificates, the EPC obtained for Solaria lists very inaccurate energy consumption predictions and takes no account of actual energy consumption. The corrent owners have kept detailed records of energy consumption since they moved in in January 1998 and these can be made available to potential purchasers if requested.

Directions From Craven Arms take the B4368 east towards Bridgnorth for about 5 miles. Turn right into Mill Lane in the village of Diddlebury and Solaria will be seen after a short distance on the left hand side.
