ALDBOURNE Number 12 Alma Road occupies a pleasant position at the end of the cul-de-sac backing onto open fields, yet still within walking distance of the centre of the village with its numerous facilities including shops, two pubs and primary school. Within 2 minutes of the front door is a path leading up onto the Downs known as the Aldbourne circular route which has to be one of the most beautiful walks in the county.
The village is famous for its church, as St Michael's has the largest Norman doorway of any parish church in Wiltshire and was famous for its bell foundry which between 1696 and 1826 made bells for many churches in Wiltshire and in surrounding counties. The village has featured in numerous television programs and even has its own web site. Facilities include Primary School, two public houses, post office, grocery store, clubs, sports facilites and regular bus services to Hungerford, Marlborough and Swindon. Motorway access at Hungerford and Swindon. THE PROPERTY Originally constructed in 1964, the property provides larger than average accommodation. Ok that is downstairs, back to the hall and right up the staircase onto the landing.
