" DESCRIPTION Set within delightful gardens and grounds extending to around 0.4 acre, this pretty Grade II listed Cotswold stone detached house was originally built as a school by the Neeld Estate in 1832. The cottage has since been extended and today offers deceptively spacious accommodation extending in all to around 2000 sq.ft. The cottage has a lovely feel and displays a wealth of character which includes beamed ceilings, an exposed Cotswold stone fireplace in the sitting room whilst other features include an Aga in the kitchen/breakfast room and a wood burning stove in the drawing room. Upstairs, there are four bedrooms, one of which is currently being used as an office, as well as two good sized bathrooms. The property benefits from a downstairs WC, utility room and oil fired central heating. Externally, the cottage is surrounded by pretty lawned gardens with mature shrubs, a stone patio, stone shed and garden room/studio. There is also a small paddock to the rear with a stable block. The gravel driveway and garage to the side offers ample parking for several vehicles.   SITUATION The quiet village of Alderton is set within beautiful North Wiltshire countryside featuring it's own church and pretty duck pond. The neighbouring village of Luckington is only 1 mile away where there is a useful well stocked village shop and post office, as well as a primary school and pub. Further shops, schools and amenities can be found at Sherston which is an easy 5 minute drive away. Close by are the market towns of Malmesbury and Tetbury and both towns offer a wide range of shops including Waitrose and Tesco supermarkets, bus services, excellent schools and leisure facilities. Junctions 17 & 18 of the M4 are both within 15 minutes' drive providing easy commuter access to Bath, Bristol and Swindon whilst rail services to London-Paddington are available from Chippenham.? "
