Sutherland Square is a beautifully presented early Victorian square nestling in a conservation area behind Walworth Road. Houses here are very rarely available. This established terrace house (the largest on the Square, we're told) is three windows wide and has four bedrooms, three receptions (one of which can be used as an extra bedroom), two kitchens, a private rear garden and attic storage which could easily accommodate another bedroom subject to planning, all spread over five floors. Transport links are amazing from this pocket of London; choose between the tube, train or bus as your preferred method - all are within easy walking distance.

The classic facade is exceptionally pleasing to the eye; iron railings and a noble blue front door invite you into the wide hallway with double reception room to the right. Two tall sash windows face the front of the property, with an additional sash window to the rear, flooding light throughout the entire room. Walls are a pleasing mint green and there are solid wood floors underfoot. To the rear of the space you'll find an ingeniously concealed pull down single bed which hides behind double doors near the rear sash - great for guests or elderly residents. Also on this floor is a fully fledged bathroom. Travelling down to the lower ground floor, you reach a smart and well stocked kitchen, with plenty of units and cupboards to fill with treats. Behind this is a neat shower room with w.c and basin. A door on the right leads out to the perfectly charming paved garden. Facing the front of the property is the first bedroom, a good size double, with a built-in wardrobe and shelving on the chimney breast. Next door is a handy utility area with plumbing for the washing machine and space for the Hoover and ironing board.

Take the carpeted stairs up to the first floor to be bowled over by the master bedroom. It spans the entire width of the property with wood floors and a classic pale decor. The room is flooded with light from three sash windows fronting the street. Another bedroom sits behind; this one is a respectable double, with more storage solutions and a pretty view of the garden.

The second floor has a big reception (or fifth bedroom) with direct access to a convenient galley kitchen. A double bedroom, bathroom and separate loo complete the package. If you're always looking for that extra half an inch of space, you can store unsightly objects in the attic; it's accessible via a door in the hall on the second floor. Subject to renewing recently expired planning permission you could transform this into a study, office or further bedroom.

Crammed with period properties, Sutherland Square is a smart and well connected place to be. Transport options are numerous with a multitude of buses whizzing up and down Walworth Road to all corners of town – you can catch a bus to Victoria, Whitehall, West End, Euston and Kings Cross, City and London Bridge. Trains to the City are a mere 6 minute and the tube at Elephant & Castle or Kennington will take you direct to the city and into the West End. There's a host of shops at the end of your street, including a Marks & Spencer’s and new Morrisons. Walworth Road has a number of convenience stores for fresh fruit and veg, a post office and numerous banks – that’s everything covered.
