The market town of Llandovery is abour 4 miles with more comprehensive shopping facilities togther with Senior School and Llandovery College in the private sector. The A40 trunk road runs past Llanwrda and gives good access to the other market towns of West Wales and to the capital city of Cardiff about 70 miles. There is a station on the Heart of Wales railway line from Shrewsbury to Swansea and with connections thereon to London. Just to the south is the beautiful area of the Brecon Beacons National Park and to the north the Cambrian Mountains.
