" *UNDER OFFER* Westfield Mansion is a true gem in the heart of Bonchurch. Built in 1825 for Queen Adelaide, wife of King William IV, the mansion is situated on a south facing slope well sheltered from the North by the St. Boniface Downs. Its imposing elevation commands an excellent view of the English Channel. The apartment itself is situated on the ground floor of this historic Grade II listed building. This lovely apartment has been refurbished in recent years by the current owners and still retains many of its original features. One of which are the six sets of elegant french doors and windows that open onto the veranda overlooking the garden to the sea beyond. These doors and windows all have their original shutters which are all in good order.
Accommodation briefly comprises of:

South aspect family room leading to the veranda, open plan to the kitchen and bathroom. Drawing room with a mezzanine floor to the sleeping area and a separate w/c and shower room.

The family room, which was the original morning room to the Mansion House, has unique imported Italian glass globe lighting which is controlled via an intricate high tech remote controlled dimmer panel. The wall mounted gas combi boiler has been tastefully hidden within a bespoke bookcase.

The kitchen has fitted wall mounted and floor standing solid wood fronted units with soft closing drawers, display cupboards and tiled splashbacks. There is a built in gas hob with extractor hood, eye level oven, microwave, dishwasher and refridgerator. Another feature here is the tiled floor with under floor heating.

The bathroom has been tastefully modernised with a full sized bath, w/c with concealed cistern, wash hand basin, heated towel rail, recess with mirror. It has been tiled floor to ceiling and also has under floor heating and a built in lighted medecine cabinet with mirror.

The drawing room has an array of original features including ornate coving and flowered ceiling decor, a curved bay window and french doors leading onto the veranda. This room has had a mezzanine floor built in (6' height) to incorporate the sleeping area and usefull built in mirror door wardrobes below. Adjacent to these are a separate w/c on one side and a shower room with power shower on the other.

Outside there is an allocated parking space and visitors parking. The Lawned gardens are communal and well maintained.

It is five minutes walk to the beach at Monk's Bay and from there it is a lovely scenic fifteen minute walk to Ventnor Bay. It is in proximity to a bus stop for transport to Newport and Shanklin. It is a twenty minute drive to Shanklin train station for the Island Line to Ryde and sea connections to Portsmouth. You can also walk to the popular local pub or the local grocer/newsagent within ten minutes.
