The property is situated in is the village of Gunnislake which offers a variety of local shops and facilities, doctors surgery, train station, petrol station etc. Nearby is the ancient stannary town of Tavistock.

Within the immediate surrounding area are a wealth of opportunities for the sporting and outdoor enthusiast. The South Coast is half-an-hour's drive away and Dartmoor is within a short walk of the town. Golf Courses are available at Tavistock and Yelverton (5 miles).
