" Where it is The Corner House is in the village of Fyfield which is 9 miles west of Oxford and 6.2 miles from Abingdon. Abingdon is where you?ll find the nearest supermarkets ? choose from Waitrose, Tesco?s and Sainsbury?s. For the odd pint of milk or when you just need chocolate (!) you can pop to the Community Shop in nearby Appleton. The market town of Witney is just 9.4 miles way and there is an excellent range of shops, including many owner-managed establishments. If you need an M & S ?fix? the Park & Ride gets you into the heart of the City in just a few minutes (the nearest is approx. 15 minutes drive away). For foodies The White Hart in Fyfield is a must. A unique and historic 15th Century former Chantry House, which retains many of its original features. The setting is beautiful - whether you choose to eat under the soaring eaves of the great hall in the main restaurant, up high in the minstrel?s gallery or outside on the terrace, surrounded by flowers and gardens. Although the standards of food and service are high, the pub still retains its role as the village local and people are made to feel just as welcome to come and enjoy a pint of well-kept real ale at the bar, as they are enjoying a meal in the restaurant. The village has a good community feel and is very welcoming. St John?s Close is a particularly friendly place to be, there is a mixture of ages in the close and the children all play on the green in the middle of the houses. If you have a little one, there is a child minder in the close, who knows she might be able to help you out too. Appleton is the nearest local primary school and has an excellent reputation, there is a school bus that picks the children up from St John?s Close and takes them into Appleton. Why we love it So you can have your cake and eat it! Modern stylish interiors with a dash of character too. In a superb Location with country views, this is certainly my perfect family house. What it?s got The Corner House is just what you have been looking for, for all those frustrating months. The current owners have been there for 10 years and loved every minute, they are only moving to be near family and will be very sad to go. They have carried out a series of extensions to the property that just work. There is a surprise round every corner and just when you think that you have seen it all another room appears. The sitting room is vast; the perfect room on Christmas Day as there is space for the adults to relax in front of a roasting fire and for the children to explore the fruits of Santa?s visit. The kitchen is where the family get together or friends gather for lazy suppers, well designed and modern you will be able to tell that there is quite a lot of female input here! When the occasion demands, the formal dining area is just next door and is open plan to a family area where the children can play and relax. Just off the kitchen is the boot/utility room for washing off muddy walking boots or for grooming the Labrador after strolling across the nearby fields. Quite often when downstairs is so good you pop upstairs to be disappointed; not here ? it just gets even better. The master bedroom has a Juliet balcony and vaulted ceiling; how decedent, there is a room for an en suite shower which has all the plumbing but is being used as a home office at the moment. There is a family bathroom and a bedroom. Then comes the best bit, three more bedrooms and an ensuite bathroom. The current owners use the ensuite bedroom here, one of the children has a bedroom and the third bedroom is used as a playroom. The garden backs onto farmland and has views across open countryside. There is plenty of room for everyone to do their own ?thing?. Grown-up?s can catch up over a glass of wine while the kids play at the other end of the garden; don?t worry you can still keep a careful eye on them. The garden is mature with plenty of shrubs, plants and trees. There is a garage and an outside loo, perfect in the summer; the children can literally spend all day in the garden. How to get there Take the A420 from Botley and travel towards Swindon. Take the right turning from the A420 to Fyfield and then the first turn on the left. St John?s Close will be found on the right and The Corner House is unsurprisingly in the left hand corner. "
