Description

Ty’r Bont offers an opportunity for buyers to purchase a unique detached architect designed seaside property. Designed by Oliver Richards and Paul James of the Terry Farrell Partnership, it was built in 1982.  The house has been described in the architectural press as the first authentic postmodern classical house in Wales and probably Britain!

The house is of modern timber frame construction bringing the advantages of being warm in the winter and cool in the summer. It has a slate roof. Ty’r Bont has been built in a horseshoe shape around a central 20ft high vaulted roofed Atrium with a south facing full height arched window and doors to capture the magnificent views.  Ty’r Bont is set at the end of a private gated tarmac driveway with hedges and borders on both sides and having pillar lights along one side.  The entrance door is flanked by iconic lighting pillars and porch.

The East and West wings of the property are linked across the Atrium by an unusual bridge at first floor level thus providing easy access between the Lounge, Dining area and sun room.

Being built with the reception rooms on the first floor and the bedrooms on the ground floor Ty’r Bont offers the best opportunities of the stunning views of Cardigan Bay, Snowdonia and the hills of the Lleyn Peninsula. For the keen sailors, or those who just want to enjoy the spectacle, the racing markers are just outside!  The Sailing Club and Marina are just a few minutes drive away. For the keen golfer, Pwllheli Golf Club is less than a 5 minute walk away.  The Leisure centre is also a short walk and offers a swimming pool, gym and tennis courts plus the usual facilities.

It is approximately 75 minutes drive to Holyhead for the Dublin ferry.

There is ample parking in the front garden for cars/caravan/boat etc. The raised decking in the back garden offers magnificent southerly views of Cardigan bay and Snowdonia. This decked area is accessed from the sun room and via the fire escape stairs from the side garden.

The Gardens total more than 1/3 of an acre and are well maintained.
