" With origins in the 1820‘s, this is one of Leatherheads notable historic and significant homes, superbly well located for convenient access to the town centre, schools, and the mainline station. Formerly, Devon House was The Leatherhead Music School, founded in 1926 which remained here until 1978.
It is a beautifully appointed house with a magnificent hall and stairway, 5 bedrooms and 4 bath/shower rooms (2 ensuite), and a large well specified kitchen/breakfast room with an Aga. The house has a lovely bright and airy feel with high ceilings, large windows, and excellent proportions to all rooms. From the dining area in the kitchen, bi-fold doors create a wonderful indoor/outdoor flow to the accommodation. There are three elegant reception rooms, two with French doors, also giving access to the garden, and a study and studio/hobbies room on the ground floor. A lower ground floor provides a superb play/games room which is also a cinema room, and has plenty of natural light too. In addition there is a 5th bedroom here, and shower room, and the utility room.

Situation
Situated centrally within the thriving town of Leatherhead, the house is a convenient 0.7 mile walk to the mainline station. The station has regular services to London Waterloo, and Victoria from about 48 minutes, Dorking from 7 minutes, Guildford from 22 minutes, and Horsham from 29 minutes. By car, the town has easy access to the A24 north/south trunk road, and the M25 (junction 9). The historic centre of the town has been pedestrianised and caters for all everyday needs with Waitrose, numerous cafe‘s, pubs and restaurants, and the Thorndike Theatre and Cinema.
Good local schools are abundant with many options in both the state and private sector including City of London Freemen‘s, Downsend, and St John‘s Leatherhead.
The area in general is known for its stunning open scenery with The North Downs, Box Hill, and The Surrey Hills having miles of bridleways and footpaths providing access to explore some of the county‘s most beautiful and protected countryside.

Outside
The house is approached by either a gated drive leading to a large parking area in front of a double garage, or by a pedestrian gate to the front. The garden is secluded, with areas of sun drenched level lawn, and other parts shaded by mature trees and hedges. A wooded walk connects the front and rear gardens, and there is plenty of room for outdoor dining and entertaining. "
