LOCATION

Gairloch is a thriving community which comprises of the villages and hamlets around Loch Gairloch. The area has a fantastic community spirit and offers an abundance of local services including general stores, pharmacy, gift shops, butcher, DIY store, outdoor shop, farm and garden store, newsagent, hairdresser, bank, post office, filling station and a number of eateries including take away, cafes and hotels.

Burnside Terrace falls within the catchment area of Gairloch Primary School and Gairloch High School. Also located in the village is Toybox Childrens Centre providing day care for 3month 12 year olds.

Beautiful sandy beaches are within easy walking distance with a wealth of wildlife (tours from Gairloch Pier) - porpoises, seals, whales and sea birds - in and around the area. There are excellent local walks available, a 9-hole golf course, river and sea fishing in addition stalking can be arranged at certain times of the year. There are an abundance of outdoor pursuits available locally for the more active including sailing, canoeing, sea-kayaking, rock climbing, abseiling, orienteering and pony trekking.

The local swimming pool is located at Poolewe approximately 6 miles north of Gairloch.

Beinn Eighe national nature reserve is approximately 16 miles south-east and Inverness is approximately 70 miles to the south-east.

DIRECTIONS

Travel north from Inverness on the A9 road to the Tore roundabout, take the second exit on to the A835.

At the next roundabout, continue on the A835 road heading for Ullapool.

Travel through the village of Contin and through Garve. Immediately after Garve take the turn off to the left sign posted for Gairloch (A832). Travel through Achnasheen, at the roundabout take the 2ndexit sign posted for Gairloch (A832).

Stay on this road, on entering Gairloch continue on the main road and turn left at the road sign posted for Melvaig - R S McColls Store is situated on the right.

Pass both the police station and the community centre (both on the right), travel for approximately 0.5miles, up a small incline with the Millcroft Hotel and Strath Stores on your right, go past Hillbillies Bookstore and Trading Post on the left, another 50m Burnside Terrace is on the right, travel up Burnside Terrace approximately 100m and number 13 is on the left.
