" Steeped in history, this wonderful Grade II Listed, seventeenth century residence truly is a walk through the ages. Located on the corner of Church Hill and Church Lane and originating as a late medieval hall house (circa 1400-1550), the property has Georgian (circa 1760) and Victorian (circa 1880) additions. Latterly, the house has been carefully restored and extended (2000-2003) by the present owners adding a further wing using a considerable amount of reclaimed materials. Standing in over half an acre of mature grounds and offering commanding views to the south over Loughton and Epping Forest, the property enjoys spacious internal accommodation including four reception rooms plus a study, kitchen, laundry and boot room as well as six double bedrooms, two en-suites, a dressing room and family bathroom. Also renovated by the present owners and standing in the grounds providing a delightful one bedroom annex is Webbes Barn dating from the seventeenth century although part of the foundations uncovered suggest it may have Tudor origins.
