" A simply stunning Grade II listed cottage built circa 1560, that has been tastefully updated, yet has managed to keep all of its original character and charm, from the beamed ceilings down to original oak flooring and large inglenook fireplace.

Immediately you get a sense of history and character, the old front door still has a peephole with sliding cover! A wonderful flagstone floor blends perfectly with the timber-framed walls, beams and oak framed staircase. A latch door takes you into the lounge which has an impressive inglenook fireplace with beehive chimney flue, old bread oven and seating area. You have dual aspect and as throughout the property, there are timber framed walls and ceiling beams. A doorway leads to a small but practical office with purpose built wood desk and dual aspect to the garden, plus a window looking through into the conservatory. The conservatory was added in the 1960s and is timber framed; this versatile room would make an ideal dining room or play room. Another reception room has views to the front, with a decorative brick fireplace and slate hearth, currently used as a bedroom it would also make an ideal playroom. The kitchen has been fitted with a range of natural wood units, with integrated dishwasher, marble work surface and 6-burner range; there is space for an 'American' style fridge/freezer and dual aspect. There is a walk-in pantry and separate utility area, leading to a modern downstairs shower-room, which has a fully tiled walk-in shower, WC and heated towel rail.

One of the most appealing characteristics of the property is the original oak turning staircase with its natural carved banister and a removable pillar - so furniture can be taken upstairs! The original oak floorboards run along the landing where you have access to three bedrooms and the family bathroom. The master bedroom has fitted wardrobes along one wall and dual aspect; there is a further double bedroom also with dual aspect, fitted wardrobes and oak door that opens into the eaves where the boiler is housed. The single bedroom has a window overlooking the garden and fitted wardrobes. The family bathroom has a stone floor, bath with Victorian styled fittings, integrated handheld and rain shower, modern tiled walls, WC, basin and heated towel rail. A linen cupboard is situated next to the bathroom. Throughout the property you have secondary double-glazing and oil fired central heating. "
