" If you love character features and long to find a house where they haven't been removed, you simply must view this property! This fabulous detached 1920's family home is located on a large corner plot on a highly desirable road within mile of the village centre and local schools.

DETAILS Merok is an absolute gem - a charming, part tile-hung detached 1920's home on a good sized corner plot, which would make an ideal family home. It is rare to see so many stunning features left intact, which include oak joinery, original leaded light windows, classic 1920's and Art Deco style fireplaces, light switches, internal doors, and cupboards. The house is now in need of modernisation, but has potential to make a magnificent home in a truly delightful and convenient setting.

From the minute you step inside the house, there is a feeling that this is a special property. The entrance hall is a good size, with an under-stairs cupboard, cloakroom and a turning staircase with oak joinery climbing to the first floor. The sitting room has a triple aspect which floods the room with light throughout the day. There is a large bay window overlooking the front garden with a built-in window seat, a beautiful brick built fireplace, and metal casement leaded light doors leading into the adjoining conservatory. This was added in 2002 and is of brick and UPVC construction, with double glazing on three sides offering delightful views over the garden. To the other side of the house is a formal dining room, with another original fireplace this time with pretty blue tiling, leaded light windows to the front and side, and an arched recess to one side of the chimney breast. At the rear of the house is the kitchen which again has a wealth of preserved features including built-in cupboards, larder cupboard, painted quarry tiling to ? height, and some 1950's units. There is a door to the side leading to a covered porch/storage area, two wooden sheds and a pathway leading to the front of the house.

Upstairs the landing has original doors off to all bedrooms and the family bathroom, and there is a large airing cupboard. The master bedroom is a generous double bedroom with a double aspect, Art Deco style fireplace, and a built-in original wardrobe and storage chest. Bedroom two is located at the back of the house and is another large room with views over the rear garden, a wash basin and a door giving access to a large eaves storage area above the garage. Bedroom three is a front aspect room, again a good sized double, with another beautiful fireplace and a wash basin. Bedroom four is a single room at the back of the house, with a fireplace, built-in wardrobe and a wash basin. The family bathroom consists of a bath and wash basin, with a separate toilet next door.
