" Pleasantly located on a bridle track in the quaint rural hamlet of Cottwood, which stands above the Mully brook is this detached period cottage. The pretty bridleway awash with wild flowers provides access to endless countryside walks through deciduous and conifer plantations with undergrowth of low shrubs, heather and bracken. The entrance to the property is found to the rear overlooking the lawned enclosed garden which in itself provides splendid views of the tree bordered valley beyond. The cottage itself boasts a wealth of character features to includes an inglenook fireplace with oak Bressumer bread oven and woodburner inset, exposed ceiling timbers and wooden flooring, panelled lever latch doors and quaint lead light windows. The ground floor consists of a dual aspect through lounge/diner, a kitchen with woodblock worksurfaces and sunken Belfast sink, bathroom with three piece white suite and a ground floor bedroom. Moving to the second floor via a rope lined wooden stair case you are greeted immediately into a walk through bedroom with garden views which in turn provides access to the main bedroom with original style floorboards, built in cupboards and dual aspect views of both garden and countryside. The south facing cottage garden is on two levels and awash with colours from the alpine planted bank and flower borders full of scented roses. To the rear of the garden is a raised patio with its own summer house and working well and water trough, whilst moving across the garden you will find a 12' log cabin ideal for studio or home office use with electric connected. Continue for approximately 10 miles and after passing Dolton Beacon Garage on your left hand side, turn left onto the B3127 signposted High Bickington, after a short distance turn right signposted Riddlecombe, where you will eventually find a T-junction, turn left signposted Cottwood and after a sharp right hand bend you will see a bridle track, follow this track passing a red postbox on your left hand side and our 'For Sale' board is clearly displayed, you will then find Upper Cottwood where the parking area will be found beyond.
