Built in 1934 by William Chandler, founder of the well renowned greyhound racing venue Walthamstow Stadium, at the height of the fashionable Art Deco period to his very exacting and  high specification is this imposing bespoke 5 bedroom 3 storey detached house situated in a  prestigious location just a stone’s throw from six thousand acres of Epping Forest. Trains, every  fifteen mins, from Chingford station, only a two-minute walk away, whisk commuters off to Liverpool  St station in just twenty-six minutes or to the Victoria line at Walthamstow Central in just fifteen.

Having only two previous owners since construction, the house retains almost all its original  features, including the novel servant call bell system, and the vendors have been meticulous in their  quest to keep new or replacement fixtures & fittings, furniture and decor compatible with the period.   Consequently, the property is a remarkable example of Art Deco architecture and interior design  incorporating superlative quality materials manufactured for longevity.

Art Deco, short for Arts Décoratifs, is derived from a 1925 Paris exhibition that showcased this new  style to the world and is characterized by rich colours, bold geometry, and decadent detail work.  Having reached the height of its popularity in the 1920s, '30s, and '40s, the style still brings in  glamour, luxury, and order with symmetrical designs in exuberant shapes
