St Giles' Close is a small development of 1970's properties. No 10 St Giles' Close is a two bedroom bungalow constructed of bradstone elevations under a tiled roof. The bungalow is located in a quiet cul-de-sac, yet within convenient walking distance of Chideock village centre and the beach at Seatown. Village amenities include a convenience store, post office, two public houses, churches, village hall and recreational ground. Three miles to the East is the historical market town of Bridport, offering a wider range of shopping facilities including doctors, dentists, medical centre and cottage hospital. Bridport is also renowned for its Farmers and Saturday markets. Close by to Bridport is the fishing village of West Bay with its beach and harbour. Four miles to the west of Chideock is the village of Charmouth, offering a wide range of amenities, including a butchers, bakery, hairdressers, post office, doctors and NHS dentist. Charmouth is at the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage Jurassic Coastline and has become a Mecca for fossil-hunters. One mile further west is Lyme Regis, a regency seaside and fishing port famous for its Cobb Harbour. Lyme Regis has a superb selection of bars and restaurants and shopping facilities, including the Town Mill with its own Bakery and micro Brewery. Ten miles west of Chideock is the market town of Axminster, home to Axminster Carpets and River Cottage Canteen. Axminster provides a mainline railway service to London Waterloo in two and three quarter hours.

Excellent State and Independent schools and colleges can be found in many of the neighbouring villages and towns, including Charmouth Primary School, Woodroffe School in Lyme Regis, Sir John Colfox School in Bridport, Colyton Grammar School in Devon and Weymouth or Exeter College.

DIRECTIONS: From the Charmouth TEAM office, proceed in an Easterly direction down The Street towards Bridport, turning right onto the A35. Chideock is approximately 4 miles away. At the very centre of the village, turn left at the church, signposted North Chideock, St Giles' Close is the first turning on the right. No 10 can be found on the right handside.
