SITUATION:  Northleigh is situated in a convenient position almost mid-way between the coastal resort of West Bay and the market town of Bridport. Bridport is an attractive and historic town with the town centre principally made up of Georgian houses and wide streets.  It is famous for the rope and net making activities and the town provides a good range of shops and business facilities, together with a twice-weekly street market on Wednesdays and Saturdays.  In addition, there are both primary and secondary schools, a medical centre, hospital, dentists, churches, a bus service, an excellent art centre and a leisure centre with an indoor swimming pool.

The beautiful coast which has recently been declared a World Heritage Site is about 1 mile distant at West Bay where there is a fishing harbour and cliff-top golf course.

Dorchester, the County Town of Dorset, lies about 15 miles to the east and here there is a main line rail service to London, Waterloo.
