" Wilton Lodge was commissioned by Ann Allan, one of Darlington`s most well known historical eccentric characters. The original design comprised one bedroom, a living room and a kitchen with a small pantry; as it stands today it is very different! It comes as no surprise that the former gatehouse of Wilton House occupies a substantial plot within the heart of Darlington`s prestigious West End. With the eye catching exterior design and the stylised 1868 monogram on the properties frontage, it was certainly designed to impress.

Significantly improved by the current owners the properties neutral decor is in keeping with the light and airy feel of the property. This large bungalow would suit a downsizer looking for a living space on one level or a family looking for a spacious home with plenty of outside space.

This charming detached bungalow offers more space than meets the eye. Situated over one level you are greeted by a welcoming entrance porch which is half glazed half brick, which leads on to the properties comfortable entrance hall. From here you enter the spacious dining room which is connected to the lounge via an archway. The open plan aspect makes use of the windows in the lounge to the front and side along with the window in the dining room, thus allowing light to flood in to the rooms creating a wonderful feel. The kitchen is situated in the extension and is made up of modern high gloss units and integrated appliances, giving it a sleek contemporary finish. Two of the properties double bedrooms have French doors with access to the conservatory and the master bedroom is host also to the en suite. The third double bedroom benefits from double aspect windows with views over the garden. A generously sized conservatory gives year round access to the gardens allowing you to feel part of nature whatever the weather outside.

The manicured wrap around garden is beautifully maintained and cared for. To the rear of the property the garden has been partially paved with the most beautiful Indian sandstone. This has also been used to create a wonderful patio area ideal for enjoying on warm sunny days. The lawned area provides a lush green backdrop to the beautifully maintained borders and the ornamental pond. To the front the property is enclosed with wrought iron railings and is again fabulously maintained. The property has a driveway with parking for a number of cars along with a detached double garage which has an electric roller door.

Properties of this style and this era are few and far between and we feel will attract strong attention for prospective buyers. This property only becomes available once in a blue moon so call us today before it is gone!
