" ?The property's proximity to the sea is what makes this house truly special,? says the current owner of Pembroke Avenue, ?with an award winning sandy beach at the end of the road along which one can walk all the way from Westbrook to Westgate. On the widest and most elegant of the sought-after tree lined Avenues of Westbrook, Margate, the house is one of just a few large properties each with a generously sized plot, so the whole area feels very spacious and peaceful.?Since moving in the owner has made various improvements to the property, all completed to a high-quality finish. ?We have totally renovated the house,? he says, ?rewiring and replastering every room from ceiling to floor and creating a new family bathroom. We also installed a beautiful Umbermaster kitchen with Siemens appliances, and laid insulated limestone flooring throughout the ground floor, continuing onto the patio with the same tiles so that the house flows wonderfully from inside to out. Overall this is a light and airy house, from the moment you step into the lovely entrance hall.?The gardens are another covetable feature of the property. ?We have a fabulously sunny garden,? says the owner. ?Whether in the front garden or to the rear of the house, it feels very private and secluded, with well-established shrubs and trees all around. Though the house is on a road with other properties, it is so quiet that you would never know there was anyone else around.?The property is uniquely situated with the sea front at the end of the road, less than a minute's walk from the door. There are also excellent transport links with regular local bus services and direct high-speed trains to London. Margate itself is ever popular for its seaside charm and burgeoning number of excellent restaurants, with the Turner Contemporary art gallery providing a cultural hub for the town.Favourite room?I love the kitchen-diner, which provides a special space in which to spend time with family and friends. The dining table, when extended to its full length, can seat up to 16 people!?Best thing about the local area?I love to walk the dog along the beach or to visit one of the many restaurants and cafes to be found along the seafront.?Memorable event? This is the perfect property for entertaining, from family get-togethers and summer barbecues on the patio to cosy winter dinner parties in the kitchen.?What they will miss most?We will miss absolutely everything about this house, from the peacefulness of the garden to the overall feeling of space.?
