" This great three bedroom detached bungalow is set in the rather prestigious location of Queen Bertha's Avenue. The reason for the enviable setting? Well, back in the 1920's it used to be the site of Queen Bertha School for 'genteel young ladies'. This school enjoyed 39 years of success before finally being demolished in 1959 and developed into what is now a selection of detached and semi detached bungalows.Bought from new in 1960, this particular home has stayed within the family ever since and when you walk through the door it is not hard to see why! There is a large open hallway from which all the rooms flow nicely from. The L shaped lounge dining room offers a good sociable area for family to both relax in and enjoy a chat around the dining table whilst over looking the well maintained rear garden through the windows of the double glazed conservatory.Within minutes from the bungalow is the village amenities of Birchington with numerous transport links to many wonderful local destinations like the city of Canterbury and Westwood Cross Shopping Centre. Why not enjoy a leisurely walk with the family down to the sandy beaches of Minnis Bay? Your retirement dream awaits you!!

What the Owner says:

When my wife and I viewed our home over 50 years ago probably the biggest attraction for us had to be the views from the rear garden. There were far reaching views across the golf course and the bay which were simply stunning. We loved the layout of the bungalow and the fact that there is plenty of storage too! With the addition of loft insulation and the roof fully lined as well, along with having double glazing the bungalow is quite economic to run. We have fantastic neighbours and I will certainly miss them when I move and if it were not for the call of my family I would not want to leave my lovely home.
