Beckett Road forms part of a new "Village Development" known as Netherne-on-the-Hill located just two miles to the south of Coulsdon's town centre. It is an area which has been planned and developed in a number of phases culminating in a mixed residential community set right on the brink of the North Downs Countryside. The community facilities to be found at Netherne include: a local shop; a leisure suite; swimming pool; a community hall; tennis courts; and a cricket pitch and bowling green.

Coulsdon's town centre provides a comprehensive range of shops including: Waitrose Supermarket; a main Post Office; a Public Library; and many other independent retailers, restaurants and public houses etc.. The M23/M25 motorway network starts only about a mile and a half to the south, at junction seven of the M23.
