Full description:
This handsome house is traditionally constructed with a heavy timber frame and rendered elevations under a peg tiled roof. The house is believed to date back to around 1550 and is Grade II Listed, as are the pump and outbuilding, which could be converted to ancillary accommodation, subject to the usual consents. Hoggs Farm was purchased by the present owners some years ago in a poor state of repair and has since been modernised without compromise to create a first class family home to a very high specification. The ground floor has either solid oak flooring or polished limestone, there is a Sonos sound system and mainly Miele integrated appliances in the kitchen. In addition there is a utility room, where there is plumbing for an American style fridge/freezer, washing machine and space for tumble dryer. In the drawing room there is an open fireplace and a stable door to the garden. On the first floor, there is a family bathroom and four bedrooms, including a master bedroom with dressing room and en suite shower room.

Outside, a remote controlled timber gate opens to the driveway, where there is a gravel parking and turning area for several vehicles. The remainder of the grounds are laid to lawn, with a terrace behind the house, shrubs and climbing plants and a recreation area. Agents note: A right of way over the initial section of the driveway will be reserved for the adjoining single storey barn for access. Maintenance costs and liability for the remote controlled gates to be shared.

From Bishop?s Stortford proceed to Hatfield Heath and here turn right on the B183 towards Sheering. In Sheering turn left at the War Memorial and follow the road into open countryside to Newman?s End. Continue through Newman?s End signposted towards Matching Tye and in the centre of Matching Tye turn right. After approximately quarter of a mile turn left signposted to Carters Green. After a further quarter of a mile on a sharp right hand bend the entrance to Hogg?s Farm will be found on the left hand side.
