" An important, Grade II Listed historic village centre house with 229 sqm / 2475 sqft of space over four storeys, plus lovely gardens, parking and outbuildings.

The house stands prominently, right at the beautiful historic centre of the village and according to English Heritage dates to the 17th or 18th Century. In its early life it was The Red Lion Inn, becoming a Posting Inn in the 19th Century and later a fine private house.

The main accommodation is over the ground first and second floors with useful cellars below and offers five double bedrooms, three living rooms plus the kitchen, a first floor bathroom and ground floor shower room.

There are tall ceilings throughout and a number of fine period features including fireplaces, oak wall panelling and exposed timbers, which lends the house an elegant yet comfortable character. The garden extends about 24m / 75ft back from the house and widens behind its neighbours to over 28m / 90ft at the far end. There is vehicular access off Horn Lane into a large gravel driveway and turning area and a single garage / workshop and outhouse. Beside here is the main lawned garden which is bounded by historic walls and has mature borders. Linton is an enormously desirable larger south Cambridge village with a strong, traditional community and a fantastic range of day to day shops and services. There are also good primary and secondary schools, various pubs and restaurants, excellent open spaces and the village is surrounded by open countryside.

Cambridge Park and Ride at Babraham Road is about 7 miles north west, with the Addenbrooke's campus another mile further. The science parks of Abington, Babraham and Chesterford are also nearby.

The A11 at Fourwentways (4.5 miles) gives quick access onto the M11 going south. "
