" Caldwell Cottage is a delightful detached Grade II Listed cottage, believed to date back to the 18th century, of timber frame construction with plastered elevations under a thatched roof. The property has been extended to the rear and retains many period features including a wealth of exposed timbers and fireplaces. The kitchen/dining room is a particular feature with a ceramic tiled floor, French doors leading to the rear terrace, a range of base and wall cabinets with wooden work surfaces, Belfast sink and a central island with electric hob and oven. Open stud-work divides this area into the sitting room with a central staircase leading to the first floor, attractive brick fireplace with wood burner and brick and stone floors throughout. The ground floor is complemented by a further reception room/bedroom suite with laminate floor and vaulted beamed ceiling. Double doors lead to the bathroom with a roll-top bath. The first floor is heavily beamed and leads to the superbly appointed master bedroom with a vaulted beamed ceiling, polished oak floorboards and fitted wardrobes to one wall. Bedroom 2 also has a vaulted ceiling and exposed timbers.
Outside, to the front of the property is a lawned area with some shrub planting. A side gravelled driveway leads to an attractive decked area with pergola over and the front door entrance. To the rear of the property is a delightful paved/decked courtyard with a water feature and mature tree and shrub surrounds. Steps lead up to the garden area which is laid to lawn with further mature trees and shrubs, a timber framed shed and summerhouse and overlooks the recreation ground. The rear garden measures approx. 75ft.Directions

From Saffron Walden proceed out of the town via the High Street, passing the War Memorial on your left hand side, turning left into Debden Road. Follow this road out of the town for approximately 4 miles. At the staggered crossroads continue over into Debden Village. After passing Yuva restaurant on your left, bear left into Deynes Road and Caldwell Cottage will be found on the left hand side. "
