Winsley also benefits from being on an excellent bus route between Salisbury and Bath via Bradford on Avon and Trowbridge.

In addition there is a railway station providing access to other surrounding towns including Trowbridge, Warminster and Frome, together with the city of Bath, the cosmopolitan city of Bristol and London Waterloo. The City of Bath itself, a World Heritage City, provides a much fuller range of retail outlets plus other attractions including The Theatre Royal, The Thermae Spa and an excellent selection of restaurants and wine bars. In addition, there is a superb choice of schools within the city which include King Edwards, Monkton Combe, Kingswood and Prior Park. The University of Bath, set in an attractive campus, is also close at hand.
