Property description:
A uniquely characterful two bedroom home just off Wanstead High
Street. The bespoke biophillic design makes generous use of natural
light, vintage timbers and flourishing greenery, bringing the
outside in for a glorious cottage atmosphere.
Wanstead High Street is just moments away, for superb transport
links, fresh produce suppliers and a superb range wining and dining
establishments.
If you lived here
You‘ll be enjoying all the love, skill and attention that‘s been
poured into this unique refurbishment. The expertly extended
kitchen diner totals an impressive 300 square feet, home to royal
blue cabinets, marbled counters and a stainless steel range oven.
Decorative ivy winds round the natural timber beams overhead, and
all manner of other thriving pots and planters decorate the
designer timber paneling to the walls.
It‘s a space made for greenery, and bringing the outside in. Twin
skylights overhead bathe everything with natural light, while bi
folding doors can be thrown all the way back to open up the rear
garden. Here a timber deck gives way to a generous patio,
surrounded by bespoke timber seating, trellises and thriving beds.
Artfully lit, it‘s a particularly striking night time spot. Moving
further inside, there‘s a 150 square foot reception laid open to
the kitchen.
Your main lounge sits to the front, finished in pale forest green
with grey trim on the windows and shutters, plus a matching vintage
hearth. Upstairs and your skylit bathroom‘s another showstopper
with freestanding clawfoot tub and a rainfall shower, while bedroom
two‘s a generous double with original floorboards. Finally your
principal bedroom is nothing less than a masterpiece of vintage
style, with suspended filament lighting, bespoke fitted storage and
a timber feature wall.
Outside and Wanstead High Street, the bustling heart of this much
loved East London village, is less than five minutes away on foot.
Backing onto the natural spaces of memorial green and Christ Church
Green, the rural atmosphere is the perfect match for your new home.
Here you‘ll find independent cafes, gastropubs, an artisanal
butcher and dedicated fishmongers. For sumptuous Sunday Roasts
check out The Bull. Formerly The Manor House, it‘s new name is a
nod to Wanstead‘s old roaming cattle. Relax with a real ale or fine
wine in the huge beer garden.
What else?
Snaresbrook tube station is just five minutes away and sits in zone
three on the central line for direct sixteen minute runs to
Liverpool Street. Meaning you have the City around a mere twenty
minutes away door to door.
Your loft space is accessed via a hatch on the landing, next to a
handy home working nook. With the loft so far untouched you could
potentially follow your neighbours‘ lead and add a whole new storey
subject to the usual permissions .
Parents will be pleased to know that you have ten primary secondary
schools rated ‘Good‘ or ‘Outstanding‘ by Ofsted less than a mile
away on foot. The ‘Outstanding‘ Wanstead Church School is just a

A word from the owner.....
When we moved into the property almost eight years ago, we were
having quite a challenging time and moving into our home in
Wanstead from West London was a real turning point for us. Not long
after moving in we got our beautiful dog, Indy and were able to
immediately enjoy all of the local parks and green spaces on our
doorstep whilst noticing how friendly and neighbourly everyone was.
We immediately felt at home, and what was already a lovely high
street with a villagey feel just continued to get better and better
over the years.
There are a number of local pubs, restaurants and coffee shops
within a 5 minute walk or less from our house...not to mention a
babysitting neighbour that enables us to enjoy them. And, as if The
Ginger Pig, local fishmonger, organic greengrocers and bakeries
aren‘t enough, there is also a local farmers market that pops up on
the first Sunday of every month to enjoy on a sunny day the
atmosphere on the high street and local green is
bustling with activity. All of that combined with the close
proximity to Wanstead and Snarebrook tube stations which enable you
to get into the city and Westfield Shopping Centre within 20 30
minutes means that you would be hard pushed to find a better
location in London.
