"A wonderful five bedroom detached family home, including annexe, with rural backdrops while close to the town.

Green Woodpeckers is situated on a private cul-de-sac at the top end of the award-winning Parklands estate, in Wotton-under-Edge. The house sits on a secluded plot of 1/3 acre, overlooking fields to the front and a copse to the rear, backing onto open countryside with easy access to the Cotswold Way.

The ground floor comprises a number of spacious rooms, enhanced by large picture windows which allow stunning views of the surrounding countryside. The accommodation includes: entrance hall and living room, with folding doors leading to a dining room, kitchen breakfast room, utility room, study, toilet and cloakroom. There is also a self-contained annexe with its own front door, with entrance hall, spacious open plan kitchen living room, double bedroom and large shower room. The annexe has been let to numerous tenants over the years, but also offers ideal accommodation for an elderly relative, or as a play or party room.

The first floor offers four double bedrooms, two of which are en-suite, as well as a family bathroom. The large landscaped gardens, which were featured on BBC's "The One Show" in 2012, are laid mainly to lawn, with hedgerow boundaries, mature trees, shrubs and flower beds. There are patio seating areas, a workshop with power, summerhouse and a large pond frequented by fish, newts and frogs. There is driveway parking for several cars at the front, leading to a double garage.

The market town of Wotton-under-Edge dates back to AD 940. The name Wudetun means the enclosure or village near to the wood. The "Edge" refers to the limestone escarpment of the Cotswold Edge which includes Wotton Hill and Tor Hill, flanking the town. The bustling High Street boasts an array of shops, tea rooms, pubs and small restaurants, with a community-run cinema and swimming pool. The town has two primary schools, and is in prime catchment area for Katharine Lady Berkeley's School. There is easy access to the M5, and to Cam and Dursley train station.
