"A superb example of a detached period cottage situated in a desirable West Sussex village between Storrington and Arundel.

The Stowe is a Grade II Listed cottage that enjoys an elevated position within a conservation area in the heart of the village and although in need of some updating and modernisation, provides a superb opportunity to create a desirable and unique character home.

To the front of the property, the sitting room, a glorious dual aspect room with beamed ceiling and large inglenook fireplace, leads to a spacious reception or dining hall, which again enjoys beamed ceilings and overlooks the rear gardens. From here the inner hallway passes the ground floor shower room and leads to the dining room, a later addition to the house enjoying a triple aspect which includes double doors opening to the gardens. The ground floor accommodation is completed by a galley style kitchen, just over 21 ft in length, which includes a range of cupboard and drawer units with a part quarry tiled floor and oil fired Stanley cooker (not in use), washing machine, dishwasher and an oil fired central heating boiler.

From the reception hall, stairs lead to the first floor landing with book shelving and two generous storage cupboards. The master bedroom enjoys a position to the rear of the house, which provides views across the rear garden and towards the South Downs. Bedroom 2, again dual aspect with windows to both front and rear, a range of exposed beams, fitted wardrobes and connects to Bedroom 3 or the dressing room which benefits from an en suite WC with vanity basin. The bathroom includes a shower over the bath and a bidet.

Outside, the property has a small front garden laid as a rockery and set behind a small brick retaining wall with steps leading to the original front door which is no longer in use. A further set of steps provide access to the house via a side courtyard area, which in turn leads to a rear patio with the remainder of the garden lawned, including ornamental pond, specimen trees and towards the foot of the garden, two sheds and a summer house.

Amberley is a highly desirable West Sussex village, which benefits from a local community shop, two pubs (The Black Horse and The Sportsman) and Amberley First School. From here, South Downs Way is visible and there are many country walks to be enjoyed in the area. Amberley has the attraction of Amberley Castle, a privately owned hotel and restaurant, renowned for its high quality. Finally, Amberley Station, approximately one mile away, is on the London Victoria line. For more extensive shopping, banking and leisure facilities, Storrington lies just four miles away and Chichester is 13 miles away.
