About the Area Washbrook is a popular village situated approximately three miles south of Ipswich just off the A12 London truck road and approximately fourteen miles from Colchester. Washbrook offers a primary school, public house, church, village hall and a good network of footpaths for country walks. The thriving town of Ipswich is set on the estuary of the River Orwell and has undergone an extensive gentrification programme in recent years, mainly around the waterfront and has become a popular "commutable" town to London. Directions Follow the London Road A1214 out of Ipswich turning right at the traffic lights onto the A1071 towards Hadleigh. At the roundabout take the first exit onto Swan Hill following this road into the village and turning right onto the street. Bear right at the public house onto Back Lane and the Charlottes will be found on the right hand side.
