DIRECTIONS
From our Axbridge office in The Square, proceed in an easterly direction past The Town Hall and The Post Office into St Mary's Street. Continue walking for approximately 100 yards and you will see The Crown Inn on the left hand side. Opposite the Inn you will find a cottage called Georges Cottage and another called Adam Cottage. In between these cottages, and right on the pavement, you will see an olde worlde timber latch door. Proceed through the door, along the paved pathway, and Strawberry Fields will be found on the right hand side, the end cottage in a row of three.
LOCATION
An important wool-producer in the Middle Ages, Axbridge has always been at the centre of things. Indeed, in earlier times, it was a river port. This was reflected in its early charters allowing it to hold markets, fairs and become a royal borough. It even had its own mint, with coins showing the town's symbol - the Lamb and Flag. The layout of the town has changed little over the centuries, a medieval town expanding on a fortified Saxon burgh and even today visitors can wander the winding streets that remain at the heart of this charming place and soak up hundreds of years of the histories of ordinary lives. Axbridge is well located for commuting to local business centres of Wells, Cheddar, Weston-super-Mare and Bristol via the nearby M5 and A38. Bristol international Airport is 15 minutes drive away.

OUTSIDE
To the front of the cottage there is a small border, ideal for planting or for displaying flowering pots and containers.
The main area of garden is to the side of the property with a southerly facing aspect and is a lovely, peaceful place to sit. Measuring approximately 20' x 15', the garden is fully enclosed with a stone wall to one side, fence and hedging to the other side and fencing to the rear. There is a central lawn area with raised rockery borders planted with mature flowering shrubs and bushes. To the rear there are two mature trees.
OUTSIDE STORE CUPBOARD, measuring 3' 4" x 3' 0", housing the meters and with additional useful storage space.
Prospective tenants should note that the pathway leading to Strawberry Fields is shared with the two neighbouring cottages (Georges Cottage and Thimble Hall), in addition to Adam Cottage, situated to the left of the pathway.
Additionally, Georges Cottage does have a pedestrian right of way alongside Strawberry Fields to its own garden which is situated beyond the garden of Strawberry Fields.
However we would stress that despite the occasional passing pedestrian, as described above, the cottage is situated in a very quiet backwater of Axbridge and with the very rare benefit these days of no traffic noise.
We would strongly recommend an appointment to view the cottage personally to fully appreciate both it's seclusion and it's many qualities.
