The Area

The property is situated in the pretty village of South Charlton where there is a church, a village hall where a play school meets twice a week, a care home, and two working farms. Located about 5 miles north of Alnwick, and just one mile from the A1, South Charlton is within easy reach of the Northumberland coast and Cheviot Hills and also benefits from recently installed fibre optic broadband.

Nearby amenities can be found in the historic market town of Alnwick with specialist shops, restaurants, pubs and hotels. The Alnwick District is famous for its unspoilt beauty with long sandy beaches, quiet friendly villages, the Simonside and Cheviot hills, well preserved medieval Castles, and gardens. There are numerous Stately Homes in the area including the fantastic Alnwick Castle, home to the Duke of Northumberland and often referred to as ?The Windsor of the North".

As well as easy access to the A1, there are railway stations at Alnmouth and Berwick-Upon-Tweed, served by East Coast mainline, offering easy commuting to Newcastle-upon-Tyne. First, middle and high school education is readily available, with a school bus currently running past the property.

The heating system is zoned, enabling ground and first floors to be heated independently.
