"Significantly reduced for a quick sale, and surrounded by farmland, this Grade II Listed, two storey barn conversion, with four bedrooms (two to the ground floor) and three reception rooms is heaven sent if you are looking to escape to the countryside, and perhaps work from home, but don't have the time to work the land.

Packed with character and attention to detail, The Old Byre is a charming property and really does feel idyllic - on the day that I visited there were lambs bleating in the neighbouring field and white ducks asleep on the verge.

Previously a cow shed, and with original doors that are wide enough to let the cows through (!), this country home is in a farm setting and also features: beams galore, stripped wood doors, wood floors, a wood burning stove, farmhouse kitchen with granite worksurfaces and a Rayburn.

And yet it also has the comforts of modern living, including a separate staircase leading to the master bedroom suite, which has a dressing area and en-suite bathroom with whirlpool bath.

Another staircase takes you to a fitted home office, which is large enough for two people to work in. There is also central heating.

Externally you will find a planted border, gravelled driveway to provide ample parking, block paved patio area with a useful log store, a 20' attached brick workshop/storeroom
and a good sized lawned garden, with mature tree, which adjoins a field and which has stunning views over the countryside.

Stokesley itself is an historic Georgian market town with stunning views of the Cleveland Hills. The town itself is situated on the River Leven with College Square at one end and West Green at the other. The cobbled high street is bustling with individual shops, restaurants, public houses and cafes. In addition to a weekly market and a monthly farmers market, Stokesley plays host to the annual agricultural show and fair. The town also has a hotel, a library and a health centre. Leisure amenities include cricket and football pitches, a golfing range, leisure centre with swimming pool, an art society, film club and gardening club. Stokesley offers several churches, primary and secondary schools.
